Be "impervious" to everything but Jesus! by Curtis We do tend to take so many things for granted and it is actually a form of pride. If we were to continue to stay meek and humble, I honestly believe that true revival, the flow from heaven, would continue on and on.
Just this past Monday I was was crying out to God so painfully aware
that I was not any where near as faithful, loyal, obedient, disciplined,
as I really want and need to be (and by all accounts, should be)
recognizing that I really did not love God as much as I say I do! yet so
deeply desiring to love Him the way HE wants us to love Him ...
During this time of fellowship with God I heard a prayer come out of the
depth of my being. There was a cry asking for the grace to see a
constant flow of revelation married with obedience. I see so many people
who have tons of revelation, which is really awesome; but unfortunately
many lack obedience (including myself). then I see people who are very
obedient to what they know, but unfortunately they really do not know
very much. not a lot of revelation knowledge ...
Then toward the end of this time of fellowship, the Lord spoke one
single word into my spirit and repeated it several times
"impervious"... I did not even know what it meant!!! So I looked it up
and found something that just riveted me! I absolutely love it when the
Lord drops one word into our spirit that brings so much more
understanding!
impervious:
1. not permitting penetration or passage; impenetrable: "The coat is
impervious to rain".
2. incapable of being injured or impaired: "impervious to wear and tear". 3. incapable of being influenced, persuaded, or affected: impervious to reason; "he is impervious to another's suffering".
Thesaurus results:
Main Entry: impervious
Part of Speech: adjective Definition: unpenetrable Synonyms: closed to, hermetic, immune, impassable, impassive, impenetrable, impermeable, imperviable, inaccessible, invulnerable, resistant, sealed, tight, unaffected, unapproachable, unmoved, unpierceable, unreceptive, water-tight Antonyms: penetrable, permeable
So either the Lord was saying to me that I was "impervious" to Him; or
He was speaking the answer to my cry. I honestly believe it was
the latter of the two ... if this is the answer, than how does this
apply to our (my) walk with God?
There must be a place in Him that we are impervious to anything else but
God; and that place is His rest (Heb 4:3) ... it is also "a pure river
of water of life clear as crystal proceeding out of the throne of God
and the lamb" (Rev 22:1) ... that river is impervious to anything else
but God. if I dwell there, I too will be impervious to anything else but
God.
I believe the Lord was doing two things, first, He was telling me that I
needed to be in that river more and I was being too soft with
things not focused on God. second, I believe He was speaking a release
over me ... a greater grace for me to do just that .. to be impervious.
Now my point to all this is: what if our focus was to become
"impervious" to everything but God by abiding in the river (not
just visiting once in a awhile) and pressing into Him to where you have
a constant flow of revelation that was truly being married to
obedience? What would happen in the scope and volume of revival then???
We would most likely turn this world inside out and upside down for
Jesus!! there is no doubt that we would absolutely shake this world for
sure and there would be permanent, significant impact!
not just a short lived wave that we so easily accept and
celebrate as revival.
Kingdom Blessings and Divine Favor
